In celebration of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Centennial Era, a limited-edition commemorative firearm is being created by A&A Engraving of Rapid City, S.D.
Authorized and licensed by Indianapolis Motor Speedway, LLC, this will be a very limited edition of only 100 numbered rifles.
Images for the engraving depict various scenes throughout the history of this famed facility as well as the official Centennial Era logo, according to Mark Smith, project manager.
"The detailed images will be intricately engraved and finished with 24-karat gold, antique gold, shiny nickel with a black background, making this a truly spectacular collector firearm," Smith said. "The Henry 'Big Boy' was chosen as the 'canvas' because of its easily recognizable style as well as a layout that allows the room required to include the appropriate images."
Some of the images to be seen include old and new IMS Pagodas, construction of the original track, the Scoring Pylon - complete with the final results from the 2009 Indianapolis 500 Mile Race - and more . Included with each numbered rifle will be a certificate of authenticity and custom oak display case.
A & A Engraving has produced collector and commemorative firearms for more than 33 years. Some of the creations include the American Legion 90th Anniversary Pistol, South Dakota Centennial firearms, Minnesota 150th Anniversary, the Indiana State Police rifles and more.
